(458-01) The conversion by many golf courses to ultradwarf bermudagrass cultivars for golf greens means creating a completely new plan for successful management while considering diseases and nematode infection and infestations factors that can significantly limit success. You will walk away with a better understanding of the agronomic and physiological management needs of ultradwarf bermudagrass and how to identify potentially devastating root, crown diseases and nematode problems. Topics include: construction and cultivar considerations, sunlight requirements, fertility programs, thatch/mat/OM management options, watering strategies, winter color plus spring transition trends, preventing winter damage, diseases of importance, nematode diagnostic guidelines, disease and nematode management strategies, and holistic case studies at various budgeted courses.
