Monday, February 6

(1379-01) Turfgrass diseases are commonly managed using fungicide applications. Potential bans and restrictions for pesticide use create the need to investigate improved integrated pest management practices for disease management. Some possible practices include the use of organic fertilizer products, reducing disease favoring environments, and establishing turfgrass cultivars and species with improved tolerance to lower inputs (e.g., irrigation, fertilizer, pesticides, etc.) During this seminar, various management practices - host resistance, fertility, dew management, bio-fungicides - for turfgrass diseases will be discussed. Learn where to find information on disease resistant cultivars to use at your facility and potentially install or update technology to forecast disease at your location.
