Understanding Golf Course Construction General Conditions and Contracts

Undoubtably during a golf course construction project issues arise that need addressed by the builder, course, designers, and superintendents. There are several tools available to help alleviate these issues helping the success of the project and supporting all parties involved. Attendees will gain a basic understanding of the benefits of a General Conditions agreement, and important items to be agreed upon in a contract. Instructors will define basic terminology used in these agreements, areas that should be addressed, examples of issues that may arise, and how these documents can help address those issues. Topics and examples include comprehension of construction schedules, partial- full project completion, payment schedules, following specifications and drawings, warranty, permits, fees, notices, and use of site. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of responsibilities and best ways to address conflicts or disputes if they arise.
