Wednesday, February 9
8:00am – 12:00pm

Registration Required

(1171-01) Earthworms are considered beneficial organisms in most cropping systems, as they aerate soil, decompose organic matter & thatch & increase the availability of nutrients for plant uptake. In turf, though, earthworms often become pests. Managing these organisms is difficult as earthworms remain one of the most poorly understood soil macrofauna. We will discuss: Basic earthworm biology, and effects of different chemical products and cultural practices on earthworms.
