Managing Fine Turf, Is Less More?

(1326-01) There are many ways superintendents approach growing turf. Over the last 20 years with the increasing demands for higher quality turf, the basics for growing successful turf has somewhat homogenized. While we have become more technically advanced - be it with hardware or through improvements in chemical and fertilizer products and better research, the question remains, “have turf managers strayed away from the basics, and created more work for themselves?” This presentation challenges the attendee to think more about their turf management practices and to gain a clearer understanding the interactions of each input between the turf and the soil. The end goal of this seminar is to provide solutions to reduce expenses and have less environmental impact at your facility.
