Lorabeth Catterson

Lora Beth Catterson is the Assistant Director of Agronomy at Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles, California. She attended Rutgers University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Plant Science: Horticultural and Turfgrass Management, something that she found on a whim when looking through majors after deciding genetics was no longer the most exciting option. The first time Catterson set foot on a golf course was in 2014 when she began an apprenticeship at The Los Angeles Country Club. LACC provided the resources and opportunities to gain the experience and exposure to the multifaceted industry. In 2019, she went across the street to Hillcrest Country Club to take on her next role. Hillcrest was going through a full redesign and renovation with a lot of challenges ahead and a lot of experience to gain. Catterson has had the privilege to be part of two golf course renovations, volunteering at 7 different tournaments across the country in the past seven years, has attended Bayer Women in Golf and John Deere Green Start Academy, and was named Manager of the Year at Hillcrest Country Club in 2020. Outside of work, she spends time with her husband cooking and exploring the many opportunities that California offers.
