Richard Latin, Ph.D.
Richard Latin, Ph. D. is a Professor Emeritus of Plant Pathology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind, where he was a member of the faculty for more than 37 years. He is now working as an academic and industry consultant in Pinehurst, N.C. Latin’s research focused on factors that influence fungicide performance, fungicide-resistance in turf pathogens, and weather-based systems for scheduling fungicide applications. He has contributed educational seminars at GCSAA conference since 2009, authored many research papers, and the industry standard textbook, A Practical Guide to Turfgrass Fungicides. In 2018, Latin was honored with the GCSAA John Morely Distinguished Career Award and was recognized as a Scientific Fellow of the American Phytopathological Society.
