Fred H Yelverton, Ph.D.
Fred Yelverton, Ph.D., is a professor of crop science at North Carolina State University where he co-directs the Center for Turfgrass Environmental Research and Education. His specialties include turfgrass pest management, turfgrass management, fate and behavior of pesticides, heavy metals, and fertilizers in the environment. Yelverton has given nearly 200 national and international invited presentations involving turfgrass science since 1995, traveling to six continents. He has received many awards including “One of the Ten Most Influential People in the Green Industry” and GCSAA’s 2023 “Outstanding Contribution Award”. Yelverton is a popular GCSAA faculty member, teaching both seminars and webinars.
