Bill H Maynard, CGCS
Bill H. Maynard, CGCS, completed his term as GCSAA's 81st president Feb. 8, 2018, at the association's annual meeting in San Antonio. Maynard was first elected as a director to the GCSAA board at the 2010 annual meeting in San Diego. He was elected president at the 2017 annual meeting in Orlando. Maynard is the Branch/Commercial Sales manager for the St. Louis market for MTI Distributing. Maynard was the director of golf course maintenance operations at The Country Club of St. Albans (Mo.). Previously, he was the golf course superintendent at Milburn Golf and Country Club in Overland Park, Kan.; Champion Hills Club in Hendersonville, N.C.; and the Virginian Golf Club in Bristol, Va. He has served as a board member for both the Carolinas and Heart of America chapters, including service as president for the Heart of America GCSA. He has served on a GCSAA national committee every year since 1999. A 31-year GCSAA member, Maynard first achieved certification in 1998. He is active in his community as a board member of the Friends of Santa Claus, and participates in Boy Scouts, coaching youth sports and various school volunteer activities. A native of Nashville Tenn., Maynard earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of Tennessee in 1986. He and his wife, Darla, have three children: a daughter, Maygan, and sons Will and Matthew.
