Steven J Kammerer, Ph.D.
Steven Kammerer, Ph.D., is a Senior Consulting Agronomist for the USGA Green Section. He earned his bachelors in horticulture from The Ohio State University, master’s in plant pathology from the University of Georgia and Ph.D. in plant pathology from the University of Florida. Kammerer has over 30 years of golf course experience from industry to academia to the USGA, both nationally and within the SE Region. Kammerer manages fellow agronomists in the SE in addition to direct golf course consulting. Agronomic direction at USGA Championships within the Region as well as identifying and developing services that can be used within the course consulting framework are also his responsibilities. He has research and development expertise with chemicals, biologicals, biostimulants, fertility, water and environmental impact issues.
