Carmen Magro, CGCS, Ph.D.
Carmen Magro, CGCS, is Vice President of Stevens Water Monitoring Systems Inc. He has served the industry for nearly 25 years, focusing on applying practical solutions to solving turfgrass problems and presenting optimal turfgrass performance conditions. Magro earned his bachelors in turf science from Pennsylvania State University and MBA from Capella University. After working as a certified golf course superintendent in the Mid-Atlantic region, he became director of the Golf Course Turfgrass Management Program and research facilities at Penn State University where he taught courses in turfgrass management. He also served as the director of turfgrass media relations for Penn State where he consulted, spoke and taught seminars throughout the world. After starting his own international consulting firm, Agronomy Management Solutions, Magro engaged in applying his knowledge of using technology to maximize turf and agricultural systems while further applying that knowledge in environmental applications globally. He has developed key management practices that are maximized from the use of technology to make the very best decisions in turfgrass, plant and rootzone management leading to efficient irrigation, fertilizer and stress management practices.
