Glenn M Matthews, CGCS

Glenn M. Matthews, CGCS’s love for golf started at the age of 10 when he was introduced to the game by his uncle. He started his career in golf course maintenance when was hired as a greenskeeper at Singing Hills Resort in San Diego, Calif. While working as a greenskeeper he earned an associate’s degree in ornamental horticulture from Cayamaca College. Matthews’ next move was to San Luis Obispo where he earned his bachelor’s degree in soil science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo while working as an assistant superintendent at SLO Country Club. Now the superintendent at Stockdale Country Club in Bakersfield, Calif., Matthews is a past president of the Northern California GCSA and currently serves as President of the Central California GCSA. He first became a CGCS in 2014.
