Melanie Collado

Originally from Quito, Ecuador Melanie is a graduate of Lipscomb University with a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing. Melanie joined the Caterpillar family in 2011 when she held her first internship with Cat Financial and two additional internships each summer until graduation. Her first official role was in 2014 as a Customer Account Specialist. She held the role until she became a Credit Analyst in 2016 with dealer responsibilities such as Holt, Michigan, and Ring Power. In 2018 she transitioned to a role as Restructure Analyst where she continued to utilize her credit experience to refinance and provide payment relief to our customers. Currently she has been in her role as a Business Development Consultant since 2020 providing lease training to our U.S. dealers and is actively working on a new financial product. Melanie has held various leadership positions within Employee Resource Group (ERGs) at Caterpillar. Notably Cat Latino Connection 2019 Nashville Chapter Chair and 2021 Women’s Initiative Network Programming Committee Lead. Melanie’s passion is driven by diversity and inclusion which is something that has continuously allowed her to devote her time to employee groups. Most recently she had the pleasure to host Caterpillar’s first ever Diversity and Inclusion Conference where she opened with a story based on her life and introduced Jim Umpleby Chairman and CEO of Cat Inc. She resides in Nashville with her husband Jahzeel of seven years and her dog Milo. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
