Douglas T Linde, Ph.D.

Doug Linde, Ph.D., is a professor of turfgrass management in the plant science department at Delaware Valley University. Linde grew up as a golf course superintendent's son on Wedgewood Golf Course in Allentown, Penn. His career goal to become a superintendent changed upon graduation from Delaware Valley. He went to Pennsylvania State University, earned a masters and Ph.D., then returned to DelVal to develop and direct the turf management program. Linde specializes in preparing students for a career in the turf industry, teaches several turf management courses, coaches the golf team, and supervises the turf-research facility on campus. He received the Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year Award in 2003, was awarded the 2005 Golf Coach of the Year award for the NCAA Div. III Freedom Conference and has taken three research sabbaticals in New Zealand. Linde has taught both seminars and webinars for GCSAA.
