Matt R Lohmann

Matt Lohmann is currently a project manager with the Wadsworth Golf Construction Company (WGCC) and works out of the Midwest Headquarters in Plainfield, IL. Prior to becoming a project manager, Matt wore many hats within the golf industry. In 2001, Matt won the Grand Tour Scholarship sponsored by the Toro Company, where he studied 20+ golf courses over three weeks, traveling from California to Texas. He was fortunate to study and photograph such courses as San Francisco Golf Club, Riviera Country Club, Cypress Point Club, Southern Hills C.C. and many more. In 2002, Matt obtained a BS Degree of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University and upon graduation, Matt volunteered with the maintenance crew to mow greens for the U.S. Women’s Open at Prairie Dunes C.C. Later that summer, he began working for the Wadsworth Company as an assistant construction superintendent. After serving as an assistant for one year, Matt became a project superintendent in 2003 and led three new golf course projects in a span of 4 years, the last being Potomac Shores in Dumfries, Virginia by Nicklaus Design. In 2007, Matt left WGCC to pursue a career in golf course design with his father and worked for Lohmann Golf Designs. As a project architect, he assisted in several design/build projects with their sister company, Golf Creations. In 2013, he was promoted to project manager of Golf Creations and managed over 40 renovation projects in the Midwest, Virginia and Arizona. In 2017, Matt returned to the Wadsworth Company and recently completed construction projects at Settler’s Hill Golf Course in Batavia, Illinois and PGA Frisco West Course in Frisco, Texas and is currently working at Conway Farms in Lake Forest, IL. Matt resides in Huntley, Illinois with his wife Brittany and two children, Marley (5) and Brooks (3).
