Blas Huezo
Blas Huezo is the Equipment Manager-Barona Creek Golf Club, Lakeside Calif. He was born in Guadalajara Jalisco and currently lives in San Diego, Calif. He is bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English. He has 36 years of experience in the golf equipment and irrigation divisions. He has worked for the Toro distributor in California for 26 years. Some of his knowledge consists of, but is not limited to hydraulics, electrical and electronic systems, quality of cut, sharpening of reels and beknives, administration and management of personnel.In 2006, he made the decision to switch gears and accepted the position of Equipment Manager for Barona Creek Golf Club. This position has given Blas the opportunity to apply his knowledge and experience, maintaining a fleet of over 400 units. Working for a golf course over the last 12 years has challenged Blas in different ways. One of the best things that he has gained over these last 36 years is the opportunity to teach and expand the knowledge of other fellow technicians, giving them the tools and knowledge so they too can become professionals. Traveling and meeting other fellow golf professionals, has also allowed Blas to participate and volunteer at events such as the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines as well as the US Open at Torrey Pines, the Riviera Open, Nationwide and the US Amateur Chambers Bay. Besides life at the golf course, some of his favorite past times include watching his favorite teams (the San Diego Padres and the Chargers) play and most importantly relaxing and spending time with his family. The best part of life is seeing his kids grow and becoming good citizens, all thanks to good advice passed down to him by his own parents.
