Kennedy A Ellis

Kennedy Ellis is a 2021 graduate of Alpena High School in Alpena Mich. While in high school Kennedy excelled in the schools CTE agriscience program where she discovered her passion for the turfgrass industry. She served as a CTE agriscience ambassador for three years. Ellis also received the 2021 Michigan Department of Education Breaking Traditions Merit award for Agriscience. Kennedy was a driven student who sought out as many opportunities as she could in turfgrass science, including virtual classes from Michigan State University, The Ohio State University and Penn State University. Ellis is a student member of both the Carolina’s GCSA and GCSAA. She served as a volunteer on the grounds crew for the 2021 Augusta National Women’s amateur (first three days) at Champions Retreat, and the 2021 US Women’s Open at The Olympic Club. Ellis currently attends Olivet College in Olivet, Mich. and is a student athlete on the Women’s golf team. She is pursuing a custom major of Biology/Environmental Science/Chemistry which will also include a turfgrass science concentration with coursework from Michigan State University and Penn State University (World Campus). Ellis’ hobbies include golf, all things turf, and reading. Her future plans include pursuing graduate studies in turfgrass pathology.
