Brian Vinchesi

Brian Vinchesi founded Irrigation Consulting, Inc. in 1988 in Massachusetts, and has managed it to be one of the country's leading irrigation consulting and design firms. Specializing in irrigation consulting for large commercial clients and golf courses, Vinchesi has traveled the world to consult on new and renovation projects. Irrigation Consulting has been at the forefront of water conservation and management since its inception. Vinchesi is a seasoned instructor having taught turf management at the University of Massachusetts, Rutgers, Ohio State, and shares his experiences as an Irrigation Association (IA) and Golf Course Superintendents of America (GCSAA) instructor. He has spoken at the WaterSmart 2008 conference, EPA WaterSense stakeholder forum, and has been the keynote speaker for the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association. He was awarded the 2009 EPA WaterSense Partner of the year for his commitment to water conservation. Brian has also taught and spoken at the Annual IA and Golf Course Superintendents show numerous times and has presented at over twenty turf and landscape conferences. He has received numerous awards for achievement and involvement with the irrigation industry. Brian obtained his BS in Agricultural Engineering from Montana State in 1980 and continued with two years of graduate studies at Oregon State. He is a United States Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional and holds an EIT with the State of Montana. He strongly supports the IA's national certification program and has earned his Certified Irrigation Designer in three specialty areas--Commercial, Golf Course and Residential as well as being a Certified Irrigation Contractor, Certified Landscape and Golf Irrigation Auditors and Certified Landscape Irrigation Water Manager. In addition to his business and teaching, Vinchesi served as President of both the IA and American Society of Irrigation Consultants. He is currently the chairman of the Irrigation Association Education Foundation and Chairs their Smart Water applications (SWAT) initiative. He has written hundreds of articles for various publications and published over twenty professional papers.
