Many environmental factors contribute to turf decline in shade. You want to accurately diagnose shade stress on turf and a portion of that is understanding the minimal light requirements of various warm- and cool-season turf species and cultivars. We’ll review the various components and types of light needed to grow turf. Then, take a look at methods and technology you can use to measure/quantify photosynthetically active radiation in shade.
