Ben Wherley, Ph.D.
Ben Wherley, Ph.D., is a Professor of Turfgrass Management and Ecology in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. He earned both his bachelors and master’s degrees from the Ohio State University and received his Ph.D. in Crop Science from N.C. State University. He oversees an active research program addressing best management practices and sustainability of turfgrass systems, with research including irrigation and nutrient management, environmental stress physiology, and turfgrass establishment. Wherley has published numerous research articles, is a regular speaker on golf course turf management-related issues and is a past recipient of GCSAA Watson Fellowship.
