Jared A Hoyle, Ph.D.

Jared Hoyle, Ph.D., grew up on a small family farm in the piedmont of North Carolina and developed a passion for the outdoors, which led him to pursue an education in the turf and ornamental field of science. While attending North Carolina State University, Hoyle earned his bachelor’s degree in Horticulture Science in and master’s of Science in Crop Science. He furthered his education at Auburn University where he received his Ph.D. in Agronomy and Soils, which led him to a post-doctoral research associate role at the University of Georgia in which he conducted turfgrass research. Throughout his formal education, Hoyle was employed by various businesses as well as his own personal business focusing on the lawn care and golf sectors familiarizing him with the many aspects of the industry. In 2013, Hoyle joined the faculty at Kansas State University as an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist. His most recent roles at the University have included Associate Professor, Extension Turfgrass Specialist and the Director of the Rocky Ford Turfgrass Research Center at K-State. During his time at KSU, Hoyle developed an applied research and extension program that focused on the cultural and chemical management of turfgrass systems. In April 2020, Hoyle joined Corteva Agriscience as the Territory Manager for ND, SD, NE, CO, KS and MO where he continues to serve the turf and ornamental industry. In addition, Hoyle also maintains various leadership positions within the T&O industry on many different regional and national levels.
